Steps
- Tap Get started.
- Review logins.
- Change the password.
Step 1: the route, in order
Work through the steps below in order. Skipping ahead usually costs time.
- Log in on a device you have used before and read the notice in full; it says whether you can appeal and how long you have.
- If you were hacked or cannot log in, start at facebook.com/hacked, even if you are not sure it was a hack.
- If you no longer have the email or phone, use the 'Find your account' page with any older email or number you once used.
- On a two-factor screen, choose 'Need another way to authenticate?' (or 'Having trouble?' on Android) to reach the identity options.
- Check Settings, then Account status, for restrictions on posting, messaging or Marketplace.
Step 2: proof to gather
- Screenshots of the notices and any emails from Facebook.
- For Pages: proof that you run the business.
- A clear photo of a government ID that matches the profile name.
- Every email address and phone number ever used on the account.
- The profile link or username.
Notes for United States
If money was taken, report it at reportfraud.ftc.gov and to the FBI's IC3. Neither reopens accounts, but a report helps with banks and card disputes.
Step 3: what to write
- State the facts in two or three sentences: the profile is yours, what happened, and what you have changed.
- Do not include links or attachments the form does not ask for.
- If the name on the profile differs from your ID, say why (a nickname, a married name, a transliteration).
Common mistakes
- Using a VPN or a new phone for the recovery.
- Calling phone numbers that claim to be Facebook support; Meta has no general public support line.
- Creating a second profile while the first is disabled.
- Relying on trusted contacts; Facebook says that feature is no longer supported.
Step 4: after submitting
- Expect an ID or video selfie step; complete it the first time it appears.
- Check that your Pages and ad accounts still list you as admin.
- Once back in, review Where you're logged in and turn on two-factor with an app.
- Watch the email or phone on the account and the Support Inbox.
Step 5: if you are stuck
- A Page or ad account was taken along with the profile.
- The ID step keeps rejecting your document.
- The notice says the decision is final.
What to send
- Your username or profile link.
- A screenshot of the notice or error, with the date visible.
- Which email or phone is on the account (just which one, never a code).
- What happened before it started, in a few lines.
Please do not send passwords, login codes, card numbers or access tokens.
How it works with Acctfix
- Message us on WhatsApp or email with the username and a screenshot of the notice.
- We tell you honestly whether this is something we can help with. Terms are agreed with you before any work starts.
- We prepare the appeal and the supporting details, to go through the platform’s own channels.
- We stay in touch while you wait. The platform makes the final decision, and nobody can promise the outcome.
